Gloria Cintron Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce that Gloria Cintron passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family. She was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law,grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, godmother, aunt and friend. The wonderful memories she created will always give us comfort. She was the heart of our family and will be deeply missed.

Gloria was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, to Nemecio Perez and Conception Lopez. After moving to Chicago at 5 years old, she attended Holy Name Cathedral. In 1973, she started working as a Human Resources Secretary at RUSH St. Lukes Medical Center in Chicago for 20 years. Gloria always knew how to make you feel at home, whether it was with a comforting cup of café con leche or a delicious meal. She was known for her famous arroz con gandules which everyone loved. She truly was the best cook! She also enjoyed dancing as one of her favorite memories was dancing the night away at the Aragon Ballroom in the 80’s.

She was survived by her four children Elizabeth, Rafael, Cynthia & Kristie. For 29 years, she was a devoted wife to Luis Cintron. They loved to spend their time traveling, going to flea markets or just hanging out at the house with their family. The beautiful love they shared blended two families together with (8) children, (17) grandchildren, (18) great-grandchildren.

Gloria’s life will be celebrated on Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Northlake Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Monday, August 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home and she will be laid to rest at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
